Emily Sweek

Emily Zella Sweek, 91, passed away August 31, 2009 at her home in Joshua. She was born June 11, 1918 in Mineral Wells the daughter of Jasper Chester and Nellie Jane Stephens Liles. She was a longtime resident of Mineral Wells and a member of Lawn Terrace Baptist Church. She married Oran Nye Sweek on December 9, 1939 in Palo Pinto. Services will be 2 PM Thursday, September 3, 2009 in the Baum-Carlock-Bumgardner Chapel with Rev. Jerry Clements officiating. Burial will follow in Woodland Park Cemetery. Visitation is Wednesday from 6-8 PM at the funeral home. She is survived by her son: Michael Sweek of Mineral Wells, daughter: Clovyne Blair of Joshua, son: Dannis Sweek of Aledo, daughter: Debbie Carter of Mineral Wells, and numerous grandchildren and other family. She was preceded in death by her husband on March 18, 1996, and her son: Rayford Sweek in 1997.
