Elmer Newman

Elmer Andrew (Butch) Newman Jr. passed away at his home on October 29, 2016. Visitation will be Wednesday, November 2, 2016 from 6-8 pm at Baum Carlock-Bumgardner Funeral Home. Funeral Service will be Thursday, November 3, 2016 at 11am at the funeral home, graveside services to follow at Willow Pond Cemetery in Mineral Wells. He was born on May 13, 1947 in Mineral Wells, Texas, the son of Elmer Newman Sr. and Fanneye Newman. Butch worked for Horace Roe Welding and Cantex for many years. He was manager for B&K Body shop in Killeen before moving back to Mineral Wells. He owned and operated Newman Towing and Storage for over 35 years in Mineral Wells. He served on the Sunset Committee in Austin in the 90's, that governed the rules and regulations for the towing industry. Butch is survived by his wife of 29 years, Linda Newman; Children, Elmer (Butchie) Newman III and wife Rebecca, Mary Kay and husband Jimmy Bowen, Shauna Newman, and Timothy Harris. Butch was a father figure to his grandchildren Weston, Marai, and Jaylee Newman. His other grandchildren include Megan Cates and husband Kyle, Dylan and Matt Bowen, Drew and Garrett Newman, Hunter Brock, Ethan Clayton, and Brianna Harris. Great grandchildren; Kylee and Kane Cates. He was preceded in death by his parents Elmer and Fanneye Newman. Pallbearers include; Dylan Bowen, Matt Bowen, Kyle Cates, Drew Newman, Kelle Nimmo, and Rob Tyner. Honorary Pallbearer; Tim Dodson.
