Elmer Mahan

Elmer Jackson Mahan went to be with the Lord, surrounded by family and friends on June 24, 2015. Visitation will be Friday from 6-8PM at the funeral home. Service will be Saturday June 27, 2015 11AM at Fellowship Christian Believers Church in Graford. Elmer was born October 23, 1944 to Maggie and Ray Mahan. Elmer was born in Canadian, TX, and raised in Strawn, TX. Elmer proudly served his country, in the United States Army from 1963-1969. In 1976 he married the love of his life Sandra Mahan, they spent their days raising their 6 children, and making a life in Mineral Wells, TX. Elmer was a truck driver most of his life and could often be referred to as E.J. on any CB around! Sandra and Elmer moved to Possum Kingdom Lake 5yrs ago, and have enjoyed their time on the lake! Elmer loved the Lord, to work, fish, cookout, and spend time with family and friends! Elmer never met a stranger and had a wealth of children whom he called his own! He is survived by his one true love, his wife of 40 years, Sandra Mahan; his children and their spouses; Ronda Gibson and husband Johnny, Dwight Mahan and wife Sandy, Lena Rittenbury and husband Bubba, Belynda Mahan, Paula Flowers, and Patty Kay Mahan; brothers and sisters, Alverna Mahan, James Mahan, Ronnie Mahan, Bill Mahan and Gladys Mahan. Elmer was better known as "Pa", and was survived by numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Elmer was preceded in death by his parents Ray and Maggie Mahan, Arthur Flowers, Billy Arthur Mahan and Willard Mahan.
