Ella Davis

Ella Louise Davis of Whitt, Texas, passed away in her 77th year on Monday, June 28, 2010 at her home. Funeral services will be 2 PM Thursday at the Baum-Carlock-Bumgardner Chapel with Rev. W. O. Harrell officiating. Burial will be in the Whitt Cemetery with the Adell-Whitt Volunteer Firemen serving as pall bearers. Visitation will be 6-8 PM Wednesday. Louise was born June 13, 1933, in Crockett, Texas the daughter of David and Eula Jones Willis. She married Jimmie Davis, January 28, 1970, in Frederick, Oklahoma. She was the first female Chief Law Enforcement Officer in Brazoria, Texas, and she also organized the Palo Pinto County Women's Civil Defense Corps. She was a member of the New Vision Assembly of God Church in Mineral Wells. Survivors include her husband, Jimmie Davis of Whitt; daughters, Rhonda Thomas of Millsap and Lisa Belding of Corinth; brother, Cecil Willis and his wife Carol of Mineral Wells; four grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Her step-father, Lonnie Roberson, Sr. and mother, Eula, preceded her in death.
