Elizabeth Huddleston McMinn Passed away December 14, 2011 in Fort Worth, Texas. She was born July 26, 1920 in Fort Worth, Texas to John C. and Bessie Alice (Sturdivant) Pilgrim Huddleston. Elizabeth was the great granddaughter of Thomas Young Sturdivant, founder of Sturdivant Community. At the age of eleven, Elizabeth moved to the Sturdivant Community and attended school in Millsap. She graduated from Mineral Wells High School in 1938. Elizabeth married Roland O. McMinn Jr. on July 2, 1938. Roland and Elizabeth enjoyed forty nine years together living and working in the Sturdivant area. Elizabeth was a member of the Palo Pinto County Historical Commission, MWHS Fifty Year Club and the Sturdivant Church of Christ.She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Daniel Warren McMinn; husband, Roland (R.O.) McMinn; sister, Nina Flo Danford; brother, J.D. Huddleston; half sister, Erma Pilgrim and half brother, Thomas B. Pilgrim.Survivors are son William L. (Bill) and wife Carolyn McMinn; grandsons William R. and wife Jeanne McMinn, Erick L. McMinn and fiancé GiGi, and Davis L. and wife Sara McMinn; great grandchildren Eric and wife Chelsea Johnson, Michael and wife Maia Johnson, Justin Kilcrease, Hannah McMinn, Samuel McMinn and Devin McMinn; great-great grandchildren Case and Jet Johnson; other survivors are Kenneth and Mae McMinn, Roland and Mairraine McMinn, Steve and Sylvia McMinn, Doug and Billy Don Danford.A graveside service is set for Saturday December 17, 2011 2:00 P.M. at Sturdivant Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family ask that donations be made to Palo Pinto County Historical Commission
