Edward Joseph Gonzales, 65, of Mineral Wells, Texas, lost his battle with cancer on September 28, 2024. He was born to parents Stella Mata Gonzales and P.O. Gonzales, on February 25, 1959 in Mineral Wells, Texas.
He graduated from Mineral Wells High School in 1977.
Eddie worked as a Welder, Painter and Sandblaster for his best friend Odis Dow and Tank, Inc. most of his career. He was also member of the Ironworkers Union.
He enjoyed dancing, cooking out, watching his grandchildren play sports and spending time with his family. Eddie was married several times. FIVE marriages to be specific. And had 4 children: Shayla Mitchell, Shonna Reeves, Brittany Gonzales and finally the boy he always wanted he was blessed with at the age of 47, Edward Joseph Gonzales, Jr.
Eddie is survived by his daughters, Shayla Mitchell, Shonna Reeves and Brittany Gonzales, son, Edward Joseph Gonzales, Jr., sister and husband, Barbara and Buddy Olson, brothers and wife, Johnny and Susan Gonzales, Jerry Gonzales, grandchildren, Spencer and Basey Mitchell, Ireland McNair, Tyson and Kyra Reeves, Braeleigh Timms and Trevin Peacock, numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents P.O. and Stella Gonzales, sister, Norma Gonzales, and wife, Lanea Gonzales.
The family has entrusted Baum-Carlock Bumgardner with the arrangements. A private graveside service for immediate family is scheduled for October 11th, 2024 at 10am at Woodland Park Cemetery. Eddie's lifelong friend, Odis Dow, will officiate the ceremony. A reception will be that evening and all are welcome to attend the Celebration of Eddie's Life at The 940 in downtown Mineral Wells at 6pm .
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Baum-Carlock Bumgardner to help the family with the expense of his cremation and service.
