Edward Lee Dollins, 64 of Mineral Wells, was relieved from pain and received into the loving arms of our Lord on June 12, 2023. He was born September 27, 1958, in Shawnee, Oklahoma to John and Thelma Dollins. The Army stationed the family here in 1966 to work at Fort Wolters. While attending Mineral Wells High School, Edward met the love of his life Gwendolyn Davis, whom he wed in 1975. The couple had two children, Stephanie and Steven. Edward taught his family the love of Christ and of the outdoors. When he wasn’t winning a BASS tournament, he had the family outside, camping, fishing, hunting, playing baseball, helping neighbors or teaching them life skills. Edward worked 17 years for Antenna Products where he honed the skill of being a master aluminum welder. He was then led by our Lord to follow his dream of being a Park Ranger at Lake Mineral Wells State Park until his retirement in 2012. His time spent at the state park brought him much joy whether it was cleaning, designing projects, building, working the window or just visiting with the guests. If you knew Edward, you knew how proud he was to have learned so many skills and what projects he had completed using those skills. You would also know that he may have been a smart aleck and a little rough around the edges, but he had a goofy side, a big heart and a big love for those that he chose to be close to.
Edward was proceeded in death by his loving wife, Gwendolyn Dollins, his brother Gary Dollins, father John Dollins, mother Thelma Tucker.
He leaves behind daughter, Stephanie Dollins Owens of Mineral Wells, son Steven and wife Kristy Dollins of Granbury. Brother, Bobby Dollins of Mineral Wells. Grandchildren, Shawnee and husband Landon East of Decatur, Cheyenne Owens of Mineral Wells, Michaela Dollins of Colorado City, Faith Santiago and Christian Santiago of Granbury. Great Granddaughter, Skylar Dollins of Decatur. Also left behind are several aunts, uncles, cousins, sister and brothers-in-law, numerous nieces and nephews, along with many friends.
