Duey Gene Cline, 79, passed away September 1, 2011 at Mineral Wells Nursing and Rehab after a long battle with Parkinson's and Alzheimer's Disease. He was born to Robert Duey and Velva Lecil Ashford Cline on July 9, 1932 in Mineral Wells. He was raised and lived here all his life. Duey was a welder by trade and retired in 2000. He married Ruthie Cason Glover on February 23, 1963, and she had 2 sons that he raised as his own. Duey loved children and loved to joke and play jokes on everyone, to get a good laugh. He will be missed always. He was a Christian and a member of Fairview Baptist Church. Services will be 11 AM Tuesday, September 6, 2011 in the Baum-Carlock-Bumgardner Chapel with Rev. Jimmy Lively officiating. Burial will follow in Staggs Prairie Cemetery. Visitation is Sunday from 5-8 PM at the funeral home. The pallbearers will be Ted Bandy, Ed Fowler, Ellis Wayne Bridges, Randy West, David Witt, and Edmon Merrifield. The honorary pallbearers will be Tommy Joe Chandler and Raymond Burns. He is survived by his sons and daughter-in-law: Mike and Diana Glover of Mineral Wells, Ricky Joe Glover of Mineral Wells, grandchildren: Michael Joe Glover, Shannon Glover, Haley Jo and Amanda Glover all of Mineral Wells, 10 great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews, brothers-in-law and spouses: Morris McDaniel of Brenham, Tommy and Carolyn Cason and Bob and Donna Srader both of Mineral Wells, and Butch and Teresa Cason of Graford. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife in 2001, and sisters: Velva Jo McDaniel and Davene Love.
