Dr. Franklin Richard House MD

This old world bids a temporary farewell to a pioneer, a pillar & a papa on Wednesday, April 13, when Franklin House, known to many as Dr. House, passed away from a year of health challenges.  Born on April 18,1936 to Lucille & Harold House in Mexico City, he nearly reached the age of 86. Franklin touched the lives of many including being cofounder of the House Medical Clinic, AdventHealth Central Texas hospital (formerly known as Metroplex) and the House/Cross nursing & retirement homes in Killeen, TX. In his later years he became the CEO of the Lifestyle Center of America (now Ardmore Institute of Health) where he led the initiative to get Lifestyle Medicine recognized as foundational to health care & a new speciality at Loma Linda University. Throughout his life he faithfully held Bible study meetings at his home & work, spending free time sharing the love of Jesus with whomever would come. Several churches, pastors & leaders have grown out of these efforts. Through his leadership & support, Canvasback Missions Inc., has grown and touched countless lives in Micronesia (including Anna whom son Ray adopted).  His wife, Bonnie Rae House (Turner) of 65 years survives him with their three sons: Rick House (wife Tina), Ray House (wife Becky), & Rolly House, and grandchildren John, James, Josh, Lindsey, Anna & great-grandchildren Samantha & Dayja. His legacy will live on in the hearts and minds of the many he influenced and touched throughout his life. Graveside services are 3 PM Saturday, April 16, 2022 at McAdams Cemetery.
