***Memorial Service has changed***
Dr. Flint Immel of Mineral Wells, formally of Fredericksburg, passed away on Wednesday, January 26th at the age of 87 years in Mineral Wells surrounded by all of his pets. Dr. Immel had a special appreciation to Jeannie McMinn, Lita Lanham, and Timbre'Lee Timmons for their devoted care.
Flint was born November 21, 1934 in Fredericksburg, Texas to Thomas August and Wyoma Evans Immel. He drove the milk truck for Immel’s Dairy for several years before he decided to attend Texas A&M University and earn his Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine. He graduated from Vet School at the age of 44, one of the oldest to ever do that.
Flint is survived by his three brothers and their spouses: Thomas “Ronald “Ronnie” Immel of Blanco, Robert and Cathy Immel of Wimberley, and John and Claudia Immel of Hillsboro. He is also survived by his sister-in-law: Karen, Mrs. Floyd Immel of Fredericksburg.
Along with his parents, Flint was preceded in death by siblings: Floyd Leroy Immel, Sr., Martha Hales, and Lydia Allerkamp.
A Memorial Service will be held at the Freedom Fellowship Church; 1308 SE 9th. Avenue; Mineral Wells, TX on Sunday, February 13th at 4:00 PM. A Potluck dinner will be served immediately following the service.
Flint’s body will be cremated and his remains interred in Der Stadt Friedhof Cemetery, Fredericksburg.
