Dortha Jean Ford passed away on December 24, 2016 in a Fort Worth hospital. She was born in Glen Rose, Texas; the daughter of Leo and Leila (Swain) Marsden. Her family settled in Lone Camp, she attended school there and in Santo. She attended and received training in X-ray technology at Parkland Hospital in Dallas and Weatherford College. She graduated from Texas Women's University with a Master's degree in Library Science and worked as a co-op Librarian for Brock, Lipan, Santo, Strawn, Graford and Palo Pinto ISD. Dortha enjoyed playing the organ, and played for over 30 years at her church. Funeral service will be Wednesday December 28, 2016 at Emmanuel Baptist Church at 2pm, burial will follow at New Hope Cemetery. She is survived by her husband of62 years Sam Ford; daughter and son-in-law, Penny and Jack Garland; Son and daughter-in-law, Tim and Tamara Ford; grandchildren, Zac Mudd, Cameron Garland, Taylor Garland, Caitlin & Ryan Benge, Emily & Brazos Cannon, Tanner Ford and Teagan Ford; great grandchildren, Leila Jo Benge and Carban Benge along with numerous friends.
