Dorothy Marie Vrana Tipps, of Possum Kingdom Lake at Graford, Texas, went to be with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on July 22, 2018. She was born on February 17, 1932, in Charlotte, Texas, to the late Adolph and Bessie Vrana, of Davis Switch, TX. She was born third of nine children, having three sisters and five brothers. Dorothy was lovingly known as Dorothy, Dorothy Mae, Totsie, Momma, and Nanny. She was a hard-working country girl, who loved gardening, fishing, and most of all, being with her family. She was a fierce competitor in games and sports. Dorothy was a dedicated Christian woman who loved her church family and friends, and her best friend, her beloved dog Buster till the end. Her faith in the Holy Trinity abounded as she taught her children and their children to pray to God daily. She was raised as a Catholic, accepting Christ at an early age; and was later baptized in Jesus's name at Sunrise Baptist Church in Amarillo, along with her husband and children.Dorothy Mae married Forrest Glenn "Casey" Tipps, Sr., on July 30, 1949, and they spent nearly 65 years as best friends and loving partners. Together they raised three children: LaVerne Trogden, Forrest Glenn Tipps, Jr., and Mary Ellen Richardson.Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband, F.G. "Casey" Tipps, Sr.; her sisters: Martha Ciomperlik and Barbara Vrana; and brothers: Adolph Vrana, Jr., Eugene Vrana and Raymond Vrana; and great-grandson Brandon Richardson.She had three children, six grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and 10 great-great grandchildren. Including her son, Forrest Glenn "Bubba" Tipps, Jr., and Catherine Evans (His children: Forrest Tipps, lll, and Sarah Scott & husband, Jimmy + their two children) and daughters: LaVerne Trogden and husband, Sam (Her children: Glenna Smith +3 children)) and Dustin Slaughter and Azalea Castillo ((+His 2 daughters)), Stacy Reyes and Brian (+Her 2 daughters) and Mary Ellen Richardson and husband, Richard, and daughter, Christie Sparkman ((+3 children)) ((+ nine great grandchildren)).Visitation will be 7-9 Wednesday evening at Baum-Carlock Bumgardner Funeral Home. Funeral services will be 10 a.m., Thursday, July 26 at Community Church of PK. Dorothy will be laid to rest at Pickwick-McAdams Cemetery at Possum Kingdom Lake.
