Dorothy Lee Smith Lowry, 83, of Mineral Wells, left this life Saturday, March 6, 2010 with her loving family at her bedside. Dorothy was born to the late Charley and Esther Smith, May 23, 1926, at Oran in Palo Pinto County, Texas. She married the late Robert Booles Lowry on November 7, 1944 in Weatherford, Texas. They lived in Wichita Falls and Iowa Park, Texas, before relocating back to Mineral Wells, in 1993. Dorothy had a passion for her home, family, friends, and china painting. She was an active member and officer of the Wichita Falls Porcelain Art Club, as well as state and national porcelain and china painting associations. She was a member of the United Methodist Church. Dorothy is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Jo Ann and Travis Ratcliff of Springtown, Texas; one beloved grandson, Robert Aaron Ratcliff, of Irving, Texas. She is also survived by one sister and brother-in-law, Shirley and Crockett Grimes of Salesville, Texas; and, numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by two sisters, Pauline Cox and Jo Helen Flowers. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday, March 9 at the Baum-Carlock-Bumgardner Chapel with intermit at the Oran Cemetery. The Reverend Lonnie DeArmond will be officiating. Pallbearers will be Charles Bradshaw, Fred Grimes, David Kinnamore, Charles Knight, Andy Lowry, Richard Miton, and Amondo (Buddy) Trejo
