Dorothy Claiborne

Dorothy Louise Claiborne, 82, passed away June 22, 2010 in a Mineral Wells hospital. She was born April 30, 1928 in Haskell the daughter of Thomas Russell and Docie Carr Bryant. She married Elmer Owens in 1954 in Mineral Wells and he preceded her in death in 1981. She married Chester Claiborne in 1983 in Mineral Wells and he preceded her in death in 2006. Her church home was Midpoint chapel, and she held all there dear to her heart. For many years she was a part of the family of Eleventh Avenue Church, and was always grateful for Brother R. B. Shiflet and all of the support and encouragement across the years that his ministry gave to her and her family. She was a lifetime member of the Millsap Ladies Home and Garden Club, and had many treasured friendships through this affiliation. Dorothy s family gives special thanks to Dr. Ty Gore and the staff of Palo Pinto General Hospital for always giving her the highest in excellent care. There is much gratitude to all of the staff of Palo Pinto Nursing Center for all of the gracious care that she was given there. We thank everyone for not forgetting Dorothy during her declining years, and for all of the kindness and love that was showered on her. This Christian soul loved her Lord and Savior above all else, and it was her greatest desire to be with Him. She fully professed her faith that God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not parish, but have everlasting life. John 14:2-3 Services will be 10 AM Friday, June 25, 2010 in the Baum-Carlock-Bumgardner Chapel with Brother Bill Hudson officiating. Burial will follow in Indian Creek Cemetery. She is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law: Shirley and Eddie Bell of Mineral Wells, Sherry and Arnold Garrett of Millsap, Sharron and Bill Hudson of Millsap, grandchildren: Russell Bell, Kelli Barbee, Chris Garrett, Jason Garrett, Jennifer Lawrence, Molly Hudson, Billi Hudson, 9 great-grandchildren, sister: Lorene Carnes of Hawley, and brother: Bill Bryant of Lone Camp. She was also preceded in death by her 1st grandchild: Lisa Bell O'Neal, numerous siblings, and her parents.
