Dorothey Lee King

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our mother, Dorothey (Dottie) Lee King, on December 12th, 2024, at the age of 75. Dottie was born in Weatherford, Tx January 15th 1949 to Alfred Mueller and Medy Alzina Swain. 

 Dottie is survived by her sisters, Earlene Kochu and Carloyn Mazur; children, Michael (Todd) and Adriene Devitt, Jennifer and Bradley Berreth and Teri and Gerald Cross; grandchildren, Mary Devitt, Toni and Trey Lew, Chrystal Trollinger, Ashley and Joe Garcia, Lucas Cross, Ronnie and Alice Berreth; and had fifteen great-grandchildren. She loved them all, unconditionally. 

 Dorothy went by several names: Dottie, Mom, Grandma, Gma and Gram. She loved big, prayed hard and never judged. She spent her life serving others. She worked in healthcare for over 35 years lastly, at Palo Pinto General Hospital where she retired in 2008. Dottie would commonly be found returning her library books, baking some cookies, spending time with her church family at Calvary Baptist, or stubbornly rearranging her room. Before settling down in Mineral Wells Dottie lived a colorful life, filled with stories she would yell at me for sharing in her obituary. Once settled down Dottie found her way back to Jesus, at Calvary Baptist, and went on to serve the church in different committees, as well as helping cook for the kids on Wednesday nights. Dottie passed while doing what she loved most, conversating over random topics with her loved ones. Grandma was a woman that put Jesus and her family above everything else. Everyone should be encouraged to live their life similar to hers.

 Please join us in celebrating her life. Visitation and viewing will be Monday, December 16th 2024 from 5 pm - 7 pm at Baum Carlock Bumgardner Funeral Home. Services will be Tuesday, December 17th at 11am at Calvary Baptist Church, 708 SE 5th Street, Mineral Wells, Tx 76067.
