Doris Charlene Massie Alcorn

Doris Charlene Massie Alcorn, 87, passed away April 21, 2020 in Mineral Wells. She was born May 8, 1932 in Graford the daughter of William Thomas and Hattie Lucile Hall Massie. She married the love of her life Billy Alcorn Sr. on April 17, 1953 in Mineral Wells and they celeberated 61 years of marriage before he preceded her in death on May 3, 2014. She was a member of Salesville Baptist Church. She was a member of the Woman's Auxiliary of Graford. She was a seamstress of samples for Nieman Marcus and taught sewing lessons for many years. She was MeMe to everyone in Graford and was very involved in the community. She always welcomed everyone into her home with lots of love and a great big smile. Her biggest passion was her family whom she loved deeply. She left a legacy of love and servanthood to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Graveside services will be 10 AM Friday, April 24, 2020 at Salesville Cemetery. She will be lying in state at the funeral home from 9 AM to 9 PM on Thursday. She was also preceded in death by her parents, and her sisters: Daphna Young, Helen Ivie, Lula Mae Hill, and Martha Cotton. She is sruvived by her daughter and son-in-law: Sue and Donnie Watkins, son and daughter-in-law: Billy D. Alcorn Jr. and wife Vickie, grandchildren and spouses: Keisha and J. W. Trammell, Joshua and Lainey Alcorn, Jeremy and Ashley Alcorn, Jenifer and Ricky Doan, Kim and Cody Blair, and Michelle Haskell, great-grandchildren: Kasen, Kate, Samuel, Cash, Finley, Channing, and Landyn, brother and sister-in-law: Bud and Marsha Massie, and numerous special nieces and nephews. The family would like to say a special thank you to Lakewell Place and Solaris Hospice for all the love and care given to their loved one.
