Doris Cassady

d. November 30, 2014

Doris Jane Cassady, a loving wife, mother, Nana, and Great Nana, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, November 30, 2014. Doris had a lifelong love for missions and children and adoption. Doris taught Sunday School for little ones most of her life. She also taught Awana at Indian Creek Baptist Church. She took great joy in both of these. God allowed her to spread His Good News in Mexico, the Dominican Republic, and throughout the United States. She took every opportunity she was given to share Christ with those around her. She also enjoyed traveling with her husband Gary. They shared very wonderful times together with their family. Gary and Doris were married for 32 years and God blessed them greatly throughout the years. In addition to her husband, Gary, Doris is survived by her three daughters, two stepdaughters, and their husbands: Kelly & Scott Simonton, Debby & Chris Weldon, Chrystal & Henry Richerson, Melinda & Jeff Fryer, and Becky & Tracy Fryer. God also blessed Doris with fifteen grandchildren, two grandsons in love, and one great granddaughter: Lacey & Shawn Young and their daughter Josephine Mae; Chelsea & Garrett Smith; Shelby, Scotty, and Molly Jo Simonton; Cassady, Methus, Colby, Thomas, and Charis Weldon; Emma, Lillie, and Sadie Richerson; and Braden and Courtney Fryer. She is also survived by three sisters and one brother: Brenda Patton and her husband Deryle, Paula Goertmiller and her husband Roger, Christy Tiblets and her husband Larry, and her brother James Fitzgerald. Please join us in celebrating her life at her memorial service on Wednesday, December 3, at 2:00 pm, at Indian Creek Baptist Church. In lieu of flowers the family requests that you make donations to Indian Creek Baptist Church in her memory, so that her legacy of sharing Christ may carry on.
