Doris Baker

On September 7, 1929, in Yoakum Texas the Lord blessed Carrie Foley Turner and Johnnie Lee Turner Sr. with a beautiful daughter and they named her Doris Marie Turner. On November 24, 2009, Doris went to rest with her father, Johnnie Lee Turner, Sr.; mother, Carrie Foley Turner; sister, Eva Gene Christian; brother, Johnnie Lee Turner, Jr.; daughters, Carol Jackson, Doris Lee Jones and two other children to wait for the angel Gabriel to sound the alarm of the trumpet for that great getting-up morning, when all the dead in Christ shall rise to go and be the Lord. Funeral services will be 1 PM Saturday at the Mt. Hermon First Baptist Church with burial at the Woodland Park Cemetery. She attended elementary and high school in Yoakum, Texas. She worked in private homes of Maude Lee Murphy, Alton Lee Murphy, and Ruth Slater. Later in years she worked at the Box Factory until she retired. She joined the church at a young age under Elder C.
