Donna Perkins, 72, of Mineral Wells, passed away May 20, 2015, in Mineral Wells. She was born April 10, 1943, in Youngstown, Ohio, the daughter of Edwin Delcamp and Julia Laura Makowka Harris. She married Rual Perkins on August 31, 1962 in Dangerfield, TX. She attended East Texas State University and did her preparatory work for Medical Technology Certification and studied organ performance. She moved to Mineral Wells in 1974 and went to work for Palo Pinto General Hospital in the laboratory and was interim director for a short time. She attended the University of Texas at Arlington and graduated with a Bachelors in Science Degree in Medical Technology. She retired from Palo Pinto General Hospital March 31, 2005, after 27 years of service and became co-owner, with her husband, Rual, of the Baum-Carlock-Bumgardner Funeral Home. She also taught piano and organ for over 35 years. She was a faithful supporter and contributor to numerous local charitable organizations, and was always available to help her friends in their time of need. She attended Eleventh Avenue Church and was the organist for many years. She was a member and past president of the Mineral Wells Organ Club, member of the Holiday Hills Birthday Club, and the Weatherford Piano Teachers Association. Visitation will be 6-8 PM Wednesday at the funeral home and funeral services will be 2 PM Thursday, May 28, at Eleventh Avenue Church. Burial will follow in Woodland Park Cemetery. She is survived by her husband, Rual of Mineral Wells; daughter and son-in-law, Mary and Kevin Laigle of Mineral Wells, son and daughter-in-law, Benjamin and Andrea Perkins of Munich, Germany; grandchildren, Brian Smeal and wife, Tegann of Grand Prairie, Sheldon and Hannah Jean Laigle of Mineral Wells, Lea and Noa Perkins of Munich, Germany; great-grandson: Levi Smeal of Grand Prairie; sisters and brother-in-law, Jackie Pratt, Kathy and Kelly Robertson and Karen Jackson; numerous nieces and nephews including special niece, Andrea Zeigler; sister-in-law, Marsha Perkins of San Antonio; brother-in-law, Allan Perkins and wife Lynn of Irving; and numerous great-nieces and great-nephews. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Sandra Kay Perkins in 1963 and parents, Ed and Julia Harris. She was the best Momma and Buma that anyone could ask for.
