Donalita Faye Grantham Adkins, 89, passed away July 6, 2010, in a Fort Worth hospital. She was born on August 10, 1920, in Mineral Wells, the daughter of O. H. and Celia Theresa Johnson Grantham, and she married Pennie Adkins on March 5, 1942, in Mineral Wells.Mrs. Adkins was a 79-year member of the First Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School for many years and was active in other areas of the church. A 1941 graduate of Mineral Wells High School, she received her BBA from Baylor University in 1941 and her Baylor University Golden Diploma in 1991. She was past president and a 56-year member of the Mineral Wells Zonta Club, a former member of the Bible Study Club, and a life member of the Mineral Wells Woman's Club. She was co-owner of Grantham Adkins Insurance Company/Palo Pinto County Abstract Company and worked for the Chamber of Commerce for 20 years.Services will be at 10:00 AM Friday, July 9, 2010, at the First Baptist Church with Dr. Bruce Edwards and Rev. Nathan Buchanan officiating. Burial will follow in Woodland Park Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday from 6:00-8:00 PM at the funeral home. She is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law: Frances and David Cleveland of Mineral Wells and Judy and Bruce Edwards of Bossier City, Louisiana; grandchildren and spouses: Ellen Williams and husband Rusty of Fort Worth, Aaron Edwards and wife Shelly of Gloster, Louisiana, Sarah Marr and husband Patrick of Bossier City, Louisiana, and Kelly Stevens and husband Brooks of Fort Worth; and seven great-grandchildren: John Aaron and Emily Edwards, Chase Dittman, Grant and Sam Williams, and Kiran and Kaden Marr. She was preceded in death by her husband, Pennie Wills Adkins and her son, John Wills Adkins.
