Donald Smith

Donald E. Smith, 81, passed peacefully and entered Heaven's Gates on Saturday, February 3, 2018. Services will be 2 PM Wednesday, February 7, 2018 at Dobbs Valley Baptist Church with Darrell Akers Officiating. Burial immediately following at Santo North Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Dobbs Valley Baptist Church or the charity of your choice in his memory. Donald was born April 11, 1936 in Santo, Texas to Emmitt Otto and Euna Bleeker Smith. Donald worked at Bell Helicopter in Hurst, Texas, for 32 years, retiring in 1996. He was a loyal and devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He enjoyed farming, ranching, and fishing, but most of all he enjoyed spending time with his beloved wife and family. He is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Loretta Ford Smith; son, Larry (Donna) Smith; daughters, Sharon (Ronnie) Sullins and Diana (Tracy) Rice; brothers, Newman and Gary Smith; sister, Franna Smith Brian; eight grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
