Lester and Bernice Dietrich gave birth to Donald Bard Dietrich, August 18, 1935 in Kingsville, Texas. Don passed away August 8, 2018. Services are 12 Noon Friday, August 10, 2018 in the Baum-Carlock-Bumgardner Chapel. Visitation is Friday from 10 AM to 12 Noon prior to the service. After receiving his Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, his first job was for the U. S. Forest Service in Sonora, California in 1962. He married September 1, 1962 and moved to California. Demarise, their first child was born in 1963 in Sonora. In June, 1964 Don hired on with the U. S. Army Corp of Engineers in Tulsa, Oklahoma as a Hydraulic Engineer. After losing Daniel, their child, in 1966 the Dietrich's left Tulsa. Don hired on with Red River Army Corp in Texarkana in 1967. Darold was born on July 2, 1968 in Texarkana. From there he became employed as a Civil Engineer for the City of Greenville. Don hired on with City of Hurst, as a Civil Engineer and later became the Director of Public Works 1969-1972. He then became Director of Public Works for Grand Prairie in 1973-1988. He then became the Director Public Works for the City of Cleburne 1988-1991. Don finished his career as the Director of Public Works for the City of Mineral Wells from 1991-1994. Don was also a proud member of the Santo Lodge 836 AF & AM. During his retirement Don enjoyed travels to Alaska, Italy, and various fishing trips. He was a family man who enjoyed a nice steak dinner and loved his dogs.SURVIVORS: Daughter, Demarise Slater and husband, John. Son, Darold Dietrich and wife, Shelley, granddaughter, Danielle Girdley, and husband, Randy, great granddaughter, Dawsyn. Lady Friend of 13 years: Rosie Stephens. Nephew, Tom Dietrich, and wife, Sue. Cousin Gary Bard, and wife Monica and their daughter Meredith. Cousin Lea Barnitt. Long- Time Family Friends Gary and Tina Cannell. Former wife of 21 years, Diana Allen, mother of their children.
