Don Owens

Memorial services for Don Ellison Owens Jr., 62 of Possum Kingdom will be held at 1 pm Saturday October 1, 2016 at First Christian Church, Mineral Wells, TX with Rev. Brian Nierman officiating. Don was born in Ft. Worth Nov. 3, 1953 and died Sunday Sept. 11, 2016. He graduated from MacArthur H.S. in Irving, TX in 1972, and went on to Northwood Institute earning a degree in Automotive Marketing. He was a successful and respected sales professional. He found great joy spending time on PK Lake with his dogs, lifelong friends and family. Donnie was a beloved son, brother, uncle, cousin, friend, and mentor who never met an engine he could not fix, and would do whatever he could to help others. Survivors include parents, Don & Alice Owens, sisters, Tris & Becky, brothers-in-law, Steve Trotter & Joey Bolling, nieces, nephew, additional Owens & Purcell family members, lifelong friends, and his German Shepherd Sage. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to First Christian Church of Mineral Wells, or the animal shelter or charity of your choice.
