Dieter Steiner

July 4, 1933 — March 26, 2018

Mineral Wells lost a longtime resident Dieter Kuno Steiner on March 26th 2018 at 84 years old. He was born on July 4th 1933 in Augsburg Germany. He came to America at the age of 22 landed in New York City shortly thereafter was drafted into the Army. Where he was a sharp shooter and eventually stationed on the base in Mineral Wells Texas. That was where he met his beautiful wife Stevie Thomas on Christmas Eve at the USO. They settled here in Mineral Wells and started their life together. Dieter had so many hobbies but his passions were hunting, fishing, gardening and most of all his family. Being a resident of Mineral Wells for 60 years he often spoke of the changes the town had went through over the years but could not imagine living anywhere else. He loved the rolling hills of Palo Pinto County and most of all the Brazos River. Dieter is preceded in death by his father Kuno Steiner and his Mother Anna Kumbald Steiner. He has a Living sister Steffi Steiner Kryass that resides in St Gallen Switzerland. His children are , Richard "Bubba" Steiner of MW, Tim and Stephanie Greensweight of MW, Dee and Misty Steiner of MW and Bryan and Lisa Johnson of Fort Worth. He had eight grandchildren Cody and Crystal Samples of MW, Duke and Jessica Samples of MW, Luke Samples of MW, Chloe' Johnson of Fort Worth, Iris Johnson of Fort Worth, Corey Steiner of Lubbock, Makaylee Steiner of MW and Braxton Steiner of MW. He also was lucky enough to have 16 great grandchildren. Our Family would like to send a special thank you to Kindred Hospice for being so attentive and supportive to Dad and our family. Also to our sweet Aunt Lanie for being the angel they never had to look for. Services will be 10 AM Thursday, March 29, 2018 in the Baum-Carlock-Bumgardner Chapel. Burial will follow in Sturdivant Cemetery. Visitation is Wednesday from 6-8 PM at the funeral home.
