Debra Jean White Gann, 60, passed away Saturday, June 20, 2015 after a courageous battle with ovarian cancer.Services will be 2 PM Wednesday, June 24, 2015 in the Baum-Carlock-Bumgardner Chapel. Burial will follow in Woodland Park Cemetery. Visitation is Tuesday from 6-8 PM at the funeral home.Memorials: In lieu of flowers, please donate supplies to your local animal shelter. Debra and her husband, Henry were big supporters of animal rescue.Debra was born August 30, 1954 to Alfred and JoNell (Huffman) White in Tulsa, Oklahoma. She was the youngest of four children.Debra moved to Texas when she was a teenager. She worked hard to overcome a challenging childhood and enjoyed life very much.From a young age, Debra had a passion for sewing. She used her talent to make many outfits and uniforms for others to enjoy.Unfortunately, Debra was unable to finish high school. However, in 2010, she began taking correspondence courses and earned her diploma in 2012.Debra has many friends who love and cherish her, but she was especially proud of her family. In April of 1979, she had her one and only daughter, Tammy. For the first five years it was just the two of them. She was a wonderful and dedicated mother; sacrificing things for herself so her daughter could have the best.She met Henry Gann in January of 1984 and they married the following January of 1985. Over the last 31 years, they created a loving and supportive home for one another and for their daughter.Debra had high standards when it came to her work ethic. She performed with excellence and this encouraged others with whom she worked to do the same.Debra was giving, fun, sassy, courageous, strong, and most of all beautiful. She will, forever, be missed and cherished.Preceded in death by her father, Alfred White; brother, Marion White; and sister, Beverly Anderson.Survivors: husband, Henry Gann; daughter, Tammy H. Wilson and her husband, Matt; brother, Jack White; mother, JoNell James; nieces, Natalie Burns, Shannon Creager, Cindy McNeill, and Tammie Eason; nephews, Ronnie White and Alex Anderson; and many loving extended family and friends.
