Deborah Lynn Huffaker Meeks, age 63, passed away September 27, 2021 at Baylor All Saints Hospital in Fort Worth. Debbie was one to always put up a strong fight but lost her cancer battle. She was diagnosed in February 2020 and went through lengthy treatments and operations all to try and live a little longer for her loved ones.
Debbie will always be known for her complete devotion to her daughter Nikki Meeks, her husband Terry Meeks of 42 years and her many animals that she rescued and found the perfect homes for, not to mention the many she kept and loved as her own. Debbie was as self‐less and self‐sacrificing as any human can be and will be forever remembered as such. As a beautiful young girl, she had no interest in vanity her interest was in others and her animals, she saw beauty in the eyes of her rescued mutts. She was one to always do things HER way without regret!
Debbie worked as an accountant for 35 years with her brother, Mitchell Huffaker. Always taking as much burden and workload off him as possible, she tirelessly “had his back” at and away from work. She loved helping her clients and worked hard to earn their respect. She will be missed greatly by all clients and friends that she has made over the years. Her playful disposition (when she wasn’t fighting for animal rights) will forever leave a hole in our hearts.
Debbie is survived by her daughter, Nikki Meeks and fiancé Mark Savage; brother Mitchell Huffaker and wife Lisa; sister‐in‐law Judalene Youngblood and husband Don; brother‐in‐law Ricky Meeks and wife Sue. Niece & nephews Whitney Bruenderman and husband Andrew; Bryan Huffaker; Donny Youngblood and wife Jennifer; Melanie Stephenson and husband David; Alyssa Harrington and husband Bryce. Great‐nieces and nephews; Bishop Von Bruenderman, Presley & Judd Youngblood, Zachary & Samuel Houston. Dogs: Zale “Z”, Nitro, and Twink. Many cousins and lifelong friends. She is preceded in death by her beloved husband Terry Meeks, mother Betty Huffaker and father Bill Huffaker.
A Celebration of Life for Debbie will be 10:30 a.m., Saturday, October 16, 2021 at Indian Creek Baptist Church.
In lieu of flowers, Debbie would prefer donations be given to the “Friends of Mineral Wells Animal Shelter Pets” where she spent much of her time and energy whenever possible because she believed pets give us unconditional love and enrich our lives. Debbie’s legacy can live on through these gifts. Friends of Mineral Wells Animal Shelter Pets
