Deanna Hamilton Hill

Deanna Hamilton Brown Hill was born January 14, 1943, in Fort Worth, Texas, to David Hart Brown and Ellen Rushing Lawrence Brown. She passed from this life February 19, 2025, in Mineral Wells, Texas, at the age of 82.

Many probably didn’t know that her birth name was Jimmie Ellen Brown and changed to Deanna Hamilton Brown within a couple of weeks. Deanna was full of life as a youngster. An adventurous tomboy, she loved playing football with the neighborhood boys, running track and water skiing. She attended Polytechnic High School in Fort Worth. Deanna also loved music, especially Elvis, and dancing. Life happened and she became wife, mom, grandmother and great-grandmother. Time flies by so quickly and we will miss her but most of all we know she was excited to see again her grandson Evan, mother Ellen, brothers Bobby and David, and her best friend Shirley.

She is survived by daughter Dana Price (Michael) of Santo, TX, Michael “Mickey” Darwin (Cindy) of Colorado Springs, CO, and Lia Farner (Fred) of Bedford, TX. She was known as Mommy Dee to granddaughters Amanda Colvin (Philip) and Caitlin Darwin (Michael Lu), grandsons Matthew Price (Haley) and Evan Darwin, and her seven greatgrandchildren Faith, Hayla, Bentley, Kennedy, Emeleigh, Graham and Henry. She was also preceded in death by her father, David.

Thank you to Lakewell Court and Beyond Faith Hospice for their care the last couple of years. She requested no funeral service and that donations be made in her honor to the Alzheimer’s Association to fight dementia and Alzheimer’s disease.
