David Adcock, 85, passed away May 28, 2013 at his home in Weatherford. He was born September 21, 1927 in Shreveport, Louisiana the son of Frank and Georgia Reed Adcock. He lived in Weatherford for the past 12 years and in Mineral Wells prior to that. He worked as a Production Supervisor and Tool Pusher for North Ridge Oil Company retiring in 1986. He was a veteran of the US Navy having served in WWII. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Weatherford. He never met a stranger. Memorial services will be 10 AM Thursday, May 30, 2013 in the Baum-Carlock-Bumgardner Chapel with Dr. Mark Bumpus officiating. He is survived by his wife: Gwendolyn Adcock of Weatherford, whom he married on August 19, 1949 in Texarkana, Texas, children and spouses: Debbie and Lee VanWinkle of Durango, Colorado, Mary and Dennis Duggins of Albuquerque, New Mexico, Ken and Kim Adcock of Houston, 4 grandchildren, and 6 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his grandson: Collin David VanWinkle. Donations may be made to the American Cancer Society or the American Heart Association in his memory.
