Dana Mae (Albright) Mercer, 91, a resident of Palo Pinto Nursing Center, died September 4, 2012 at Palo Pinto General Hospital in Mineral Wells, Texas following several years of health issues. Dana was formerly a longtime resident and homemaker of Whitesboro, Texas. Memorial service is 2PM Friday, September 7, in the funeral home chapel. She was born May 18, 1921, in Hillsboro, Illinois to William H. and Bessie Marie (Everett) Albright. Dana and Lyle R. Mercer were married on March 23, 1946 in Hillsboro. Lyle worked in the oilfield and moved to Texas in the 50's, living in Nocona and Whitesboro. Lyle and Dana were married 59 years until Lyle's death in 2005. Dana was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Whitesboro and a member of the Eastern Star. Survivors include her nieces and nephews: Brenda Boydston and husband, Don, of Olney, Texas; Louise Andrews and husband, Arch of Archer City, Texas; Kay Carter and husband, Steve of Dripping Springs, Texas; Kris Kallman and husband, Steve OF Austin, Texas; Jeanne Barton and husband, Larry of Wichita Falls, Texas; Royce Stowe and wife, Patsy of San Angelo, Texas; Glenn Stowe and wife, Helen of Gainesville, Texas; Tim Mercer and wife, Lyn of Houston, Texas; and Ike Mercer, and wife Karen of Mineral Wells. Dana was preceded in death by her husband, Lyle and her parents William and Marie Albright.
