Dale Roger Lee, 73, passed away Thursday, March 12, 2015, at Texas Health Specialty Hospital, Fort Worth, Texas, from complications following surgery to remove a brain tumor in July 2014. Services will be Saturday, March 14, 2015 at 2 PM in the Baum-Carlock-Bumgardner Chapel with Brother Charles Mays officiating. Burial will follow in Sturdivant Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday, March 13, 2015 from 6-8 PM at the funeral home. Dale was born September 5, 1941 in Vernon, Texas to Granville Washington and Hazel Evelyn (Ferrell) Lee. He married Judy Carolyn Smith on July 16, 1966 in Mineral Wells. Dale was a 1960 graduate of Vernon High School. He was a Vietnam Veteran who served twenty three years in the US Army retiring in 1985 with the rank of Master Sergeant. Following his retirement, the family moved back to Mineral Wells where he worked in various security positions. Dale loved to work on his computer. Besides the work he did on his own genealogy, he was one of the historians for the Sturdivant Cemetery, who spent countless hours searching for information, obituaries, photographs and death certificates for those interred there. Survivors include his wife, Judy; daughter, Melanie Lenamon and husband, James; son, Michael Lee and wife, Sunny all of Mineral Wells, grandchildren, Jared Lenamon, his wife, Carley, and daughter, Aria of Beale AFB, California; Jordan Lenamon and Elvis and Danica Lee of Mineral Wells, sister, Wedonne Gray of Arlington; brother, Billy Lee and wife Jay of New Boston; sister-in-law, Dianne Hoskins and husband Bill; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. Dale was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Joe Lee, and sister, Trixie Newell. The family would like to express their deepest appreciation to the doctors, nurses, and staffs of Harris Methodist Hospital and Texas Health Specialty Hospital of Fort Worth, and Mineral Wells Nursing and Rehab for the compassionate care and support they gave to Dale during his illness.
