Curtis Lasley was born January 1, 1940 in Mineral Wells, Tx to parents Carl and Elois Dean (Morris) Lasley. He passed away July 26, 2021, at the age of 81, at his home, of natural causes. He had been in bad health for the last few years and will be dearly missed.
A celebration of life for Curtis will be 2 PM Wednesday, August 4, 2021 at the Lone Camp Community Center off Hwy 4, South.
As a young boy he got a job delivering newspapers for the Mineral Wells Index. At first his dad drove him around on his route, in the car, to toss papers to each house. He soon made enough money to buy a scooter for his deliveries! Curtis also worked at Jimmy’s Drive-In and the Dairy Queen as a teenager.
Curtis played football in high school and was a member of the Boy Scouts and earned many badges for achievement.
As a young man, Curtis was a member of the Civil Air Patrol at the Mineral Wells Airport and was in the National Guard. He enjoyed traveling on his Honda motorcycle with his family and friends most every weekend, mostly in Texas. But once a year Colorado was the destination! During the summers, Curtis enjoyed boating and water ski sports.
Curtis enjoyed the holidays with family. He loved giving gifts, especially to the kids. He was always helping folks when needed.
Curtis is survived by his son, Michael Tuggle and wife Elishia of Lipan, TX; five grandchildren; six great grandchildren; step-daughter, Lisa Els; step-son, Ronnie Boatman; siter, Darlene Gann of Lone Camp, TX; brothers, J.D. Lasley, C.C. Lasley and wife Pearl of Mineral Wells, TX; brother-in-law, James Kite of Waynesboro, VA; many nieces, nephews and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother-in-law, Cecil Gann; step-sister, Myrtle Kite of Waynesboro, VA and step-mother, Jeri Lasley.
