Absent from the body, present with the Lord, March 23, 2025, is where Curlene Rae Phipps found her Eternal Home. She was 64 years of age and lived in Altus, Oklahoma.
She is preceded in death by her beloved son, JohnDavid (JD) Hancock.
She is survived by her parents, Mack and Mitzi Hall, her brother David Mack Hall, and her precious children, Christine April Hancock of Mineral Wells, TX, Jennifer Phipps of Las Vegas, NV, and Joshua Phipps of McAlester, OK, grandchildren Devon and Demi Phipps and Dustin Bourland of Altus, OK, niece and nephew Skye and Colt Dorr, grand nephews and nieces Katch, Kelbi, Kopper, and Kal Dorr of Mineral Wells, TX, aunts Donna Neuens of Aurora, WI, Irene Purcel of Mineral Wells, TX, and Cindy Bonner of San Antonio, TX numerous cousins, and very special friends Ron and Beverly Lang of Effie, LA, Michele Long of San Antonio, TX, and Pastor Robert Sisye of Uganda, East Africa.
She was a proficient hairdresser, she loved books, art, music, and writing. She had a fun-loving spirit. Her favorite places to visit were Big Bend National Park, and the beach. She especially loved her pets, Django, Knibbler, Jad, Fitten Kitten, and Onyx.
She is asleep in death, but we do not grieve like those who have no hope. Our faith assures us we will see our loved one again.
There will be a memorial service 11 AM Saturday, April 26, 2025 at Immanuel Baptist Church in Mineral Wells, Texas.
