Funeral services for Cora "Frances" Davis, 96, will be held at Baum Carlock Bumgardner Funeral Home in Mineral Wells, Texas 2 p.m, Friday, February 22, 2019 with Clydel Chapman and Mark Alcorn officiating. Burial followed at Grantham Cemetery in Salesville, Texas. Visitation is scheduled from 6-8. Frances, also known as Sance to most of her family, was born in Gordon, Texas November 1, 1922 to Mark H. Wilson and Ella (Sewell) Wilson and passed away February 19, 2019 in Dallas resulting from complications from a fall. Frances married Ray W. Davis in Mineral Wells November 14, 1946 and they were married for over 69 years when he passed away in January 2016. Frances was reared on a dairy farm north of Mineral Wells operated by her parents along with her ten brothers and sisters. It was a time they all cherished. Shortly after marrying Ray, they followed family members to Odessa and made their home there until 2011 when they moved to Dallas to be closer to their children. Frances dearly loved all her family and enjoyed visits with them and the annual Wilson Family reunions. She was an excellent seamstress and made beautiful clothes for many. She was very active in her children's education by participating in their schools' PTA and Band Boosters through out their school years. She also loved her Lord and was a life long member of Northside Baptist Church in Odessa where she was an active member. Frances was an avid rock collector, collecting rocks from the various places she and Ray traveled over the years. Frances was preceded in death by her husband Ray W. Davis, parents Mark and Ella Wilson, sisters Inez Blakeley and husband Elbert, Vivian Locke and husband Quinton, Elsie Easterling and husband Johnny, Verna Jean Alcorn and husband R.D., and Patsy Yarbrough, and brothers Glen Wilson and wife Isabel, Clyde Rhea Wilson, and Bob Wilson. She is survived by her son David R. Davis and wife Linda of Kemp, Texas, her daughter Linda Davis of Dallas, Texas, grandson Michael P. Davis of Kemp, Texas, sister Ella Mae Folk of Mineral Wells, Texas, brother Roy Wilson and wife Betty of The Villages, Florida, brother-in-law Don Yarbrough of Arlington, Texas, sister-in-law Margie Wilson of Mineral Wells, sister-in-law Pauline Wilson of Mineral Wells, step sister Imogene Cooke and many, many nephews and nieces, all of whom will have fond loving memories of her.
