Clyde Alfred Bullion Jr., 79, passed away February 19, 2011 in a Fort Worth hospital. He was born July 16, 1931 in Truscott the son of Clyde A. Sr. and Rebecca Yeager Bullion. He married Martha Jane Sligar on July 20, 1952 in Fort Worth. Early in his career he was a minister and pastored in several churches. He loved his Lord and wanted all of his friends and family to join him in Heaven some day. He would want people to realize the true Gospel of Jesus. God is Holy and cannot stand to look upon our sin (Habakkuk 1:13), our sin separates us from God (Isaiah 59:2), and we will all be judged by God for our sins (Psalm 1:17, 7: 11-12, and Isaiah 5:16.) The punishment for sin is eternity in Hell. God made a way for man by sending His only Son Jesus to earth to die a human death on a manmade cross, to take the punishment we deserve for all our sins. Jesus took our sins on Him, and God took His wrath, anger, and judgment out on Jesus. Jesus died and rose from the dead. If we truly repent of our sin and turn from it we can spend eternity in Heaven instead of Hell. True repentance leads to genuine sorrow, shame, and even hatred for what we have done (Romans 7:15.) A true Christian is a new creation (2 Corinthians 5:17.) Not only was Clyde a minister, he later taught in a number of State Universities from 1962-1974 and received his PhD in 1976 from Texas A & M. He was employed by the Texas Highway Department for 20 years before his retirement in 1994. He loved books and collecting books, he was very fond of a book tie that his daughters gave him some years back. He loved the saying (A home without books is like a room without windows.) He never liked to admit he was wrong so he received a plaque that reads (I thought I had made a mistake once, but realized later, I was mistaken.) Clyde had an extensive personal library and especially enjoyed sitting in his favorite arm chair reading. He and his wife moved to Mineral Wells in 1999 to take care of his aunt Ruth Stoker. He and his aunt would always discuss politics and other important subjects, but if anyone else would try to join in they would rally together and gang up on that person. Services will be 2 PM Wednesday, February 23, 2011 at First United Methodist Church with Rev. Joe Chamness officiating. Burial will follow in Elmwood Cemetery. Visitation was Tuesday from 6-8 PM at the funeral home. The pallbearers will be Flint Immel, Gorman Ware, Jonathan Loveless, Larry Loveless, LeVon Anders, and Gerald Warfield. The honorary pallbearer will be O. D. Cole. Clyde is survived by his wife: Jane Bullion of Mineral Wells, children: LaRue Miller of Austin, Ann Bullion of Dallas, Clyde A. Bullion III and wife June of Anchorage, Alaska, Beth Rich and husband Don of Abilene, numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and dear friend and caretaker: Barbara Grapes of Mineral Wells.
