Clara Marie Simmons

Clara Marie Simmons, 63, of Mineral Wells, passed away Saturday, October 23, 2010, in Fort Worth. Funeral services will be 11 AM Friday at the New Bethel Complete in Christ Church, 7300 South Freeway in Fort Worth. Burial will be 2:15 PM Friday at the Dallas/Fort Worth National Cemetery. Paul Simmons, Chris Simmons, Wesley Simmons, Mark Kerr, Micah Kerr and Kelton Carpenter will serve as pallbearers. Visitation will be 6-8 PM Thursday at Baum-Carlock-Bumgardner Funeral Home. Viewing will also be held 9-11 AM Friday at the New Bethel Complete in Christ Church.Mrs. Simmons was born January 3, 1947, in Yoakum, Texas, the daughter of Robert Lee and Doris Marie Turner Jackson. She moved to Mineral Wells in 1960 and graduated from Mineral Wells High School. She was a beautician, still working after over 40 years. Her most recent station was at RoyLynn's Hair Barn where she worked for the last 5 years. She married Ralph A. Simmons, Sr., June 5, 1972, in Palo Pinto, Texas. She was a member of the New Bethel Complete in Christ Church.Survivors include her husband, Ralph A. Simmons of Mineral Wells; daughters and son-in-law, Cathy Jackson of Rowlett and Grace and Harold George of Fort Worth; son and daughter-in-law, Ralph Allen, Jr. and Sumana Simmons of Fort Worth; step-father, Lee Roy Baker of Mineral Wells; grandchildren, Deon'tae George of Fort Worth, Caleb George of Fort Worth and Ty'liauna Jackson of Rowlett; brothers and sister-in-law, Robert Lee Jackson, Jr. of Austin, Roy Lee Baker and wife Veronica of Mineral Wells; LeRoy Baker of California; sisters and son-in-law, Shirley Jackson and Carrie Baker of Mineral Wells, Rosie Baker of Weatherford and Corine and Henry Anderson of Fort Worth; numerous nieces, nephews, step-children, step-grandchildren and other relatives. She was preceded in death by her parents, a sister, Doris Jones and a son Roy Allen Simmons.
