Clara Holmes

Clara Virginia Holmes, 88, passed away October 5, 2017 at her home in Mineral Wells. She was born November 6, 1928 in Turkey, Texas the daughter of Sam and Katherine Holcomb Means. She married Charlie Rufus Holmes on December 5, 1944 in Weatherford. She was a longtime resident of Mineral Wells and was a member of the Millsap United Methodist Church. Services will be 2 PM Saturday, October 7, 2017 at Central United Methodist Church with Barry, Margie, and Walter Holmes officiating. Burial will follow in Woodland Park Cemetery. Visitation is Saturday from 1-2 PM at the church prior to the service. She is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law: Barry and Margie Holmes, Walter and Nancy Holmes, daughter-in-law: Carol Holmes, grandchildren and spouses: Melinda Holmes, Jerry and Joanne Holmes, Sheila and Robert Claunch, Teresa Brent, Charlie and Nancy Holmes, Joshua and Angie Holmes, great-grandchildren: Adrianna Bogan, Taylor Brent, John Unwin, Keagan Brent, Jared Holmes, Jake Holmes, Jaylee Holmes, Gibson Holmes, Jackson Holmes, Cayden Holmes, great-great-grandsons: Hudson Brent and Cutter Bogan, and brothers and sisters-in-law: Sam and Leota Means, and Rester and Roselyn Means. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband Charile on August 4, 2010.
