Clara Ann Brinkley

Clara Ann Wagnon Brinkley passed away on March 18th, 2025 at home. She was born in Hobbs, New Mexico, on March 25th, 1954. Clara graduated from Lovington High School in 1972 in Lovington, New Mexico. She married John Brinkley on December 21st, 1973 in Lovington, New Mexico.

Clara and John went overseas in 1974 because of John's oil field job. They lived in Singapore, Papua, New Guinea, and Australia. John transferred to Stavanger, Norway, in 1977. Their son, James Brinkley, was born in Norway in 1978.

Clara returned to the United States in 1980 to Lafayette, LA then moved to Fort Worth, Texas. Clara, John, and James moved to New Braunfels, Texas in 1987. There she became a retail sales district manager for the southern United States. Clara moved to San Marcos, Texas in 1999 and continued her business career as a residential real estate agent in the Austin/San Antonio Corridor until retirement in 2018.

Together, they moved to Graford, Texas in 2021 to be close to her mother, sister, and James. Clara was a mother, mentor, companion, and sometimes Wonder Woman for our 50 years together.

Survivors include her husband, John Brinkley; son, James Brinkley who lives in Mineral Wells, Texas; sister, Jana Hinton who lives in Aubrey, Texas; and mother, Doris Wagnon Hall, who lives in Graford, Texas.

Clara was independent and strong-willed. Clara will be missed but will always remain in our memories.

Graveside services will be held at Oran Cemetery on March 29th, 2025 at 2pm. Please no flowers.
