Christopher Raymond Barrington, age 60, went to be with his Lord and Savior after his 3-year struggle with renal cell carcinoma, on August 9, 2017, in Fort Worth, TX.Chris was born in Lowell, MA, on January 19, 1957. His parents moved to Fort Worth in 1960 when he was 3 years-old; therefore, Fort Worth became his permanent residence for life. He graduated from Boswell High School in 1975 and began working in the grocery industry. Chris met the love of his life (Fawn) in 1991 and they subsequently married on April 3, 1993, in Mineral Wells, TX. During his early marriage, he continued to work full time as a produce manager at Kroger and took a full gamut of college classes until obtaining two degrees (arts and applied science) in December 1997. He also became certified in AutoCAD design thus landing himself a job as a CAD drafting technician at Lunsford Associates, L.C., in early 1998 and later transferred to Thornton Steel Company, Inc., in 2000 as a steel fabricator/project manager. Chris always dreamt of working for the U.S. Government and when the opportunity arose, he applied thus landing himself a position as a construction analyst with the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) in December 2007. Chris quickly excelled in his position at HUD where he received a promotion, numerous on-the-spot awards, time-off-awards, and various accolades as he worked in the Office of Insured Health Care Facilities. He was known as the title survey guru for the Department. Chris will be sorely missed at HUD as he had just shy of a 10-year tenure.Additionally, Chris was a member of First Baptist Church of Palo Pinto, TX, as he and his son (Skyler) were baptized together in 2008 by Brother Ferel Gage. His greatest passion was cooking, especially for the enjoyment of others, and shortly before his passing, he asked his daughter (Patti) to carry on his legacy in that regard. He loved to dance and was really great at it. In fact, that's how he and Fawn met. He also loved to fish, landscape, garden, and perform carpentry work. He was extremely organized and meticulous and had a keen eye for perfection in regards to architectural design. And he absolutely loved the Dallas Stars, the Texas Rangers, and the Dallas Cowboys, rarely missing a game. Chris was indeed a devout husband and miraculous father who loved his family dearly.Survivors include, his wife of 24 years, Larissa Fawn Medlin Barrington, sons Richard Matthew Barrington (34) and Patrick Skyler Barrington (22), daughter Patricia Elise Barrington (16), brother Jonathan Roger Barrington, sister Valerie Anne Barrington Stokes, brother-in-law Mike Stone, niece Rachelle Stokes, nephew Steven Stokes, and his beloved 4-legged canine Tiffany. Chris is preceded in death by his parents who were married for 40 years, Richard Murray Barrington and Vola Mae Gauer Barrington. Richard remarried 2 years prior to his own passing to the lovely J'Anna Martin Barrington who is still living and has been a blessing to our family beyond measure.Viewing will take place at the First Baptist Church of Mineral Wells on Sunday, August 13, 2017, at 2:30 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. via Baum-Carlock-Bumgardner funeral home.
