Christine Hickman

Christine "Crit" Hickman, 97, passed away in Arlington surrounded by her family on April 14, 2011. SERVICE: 2 PM Friday, April 22 at Baum Carlock Bumgardner Funeral Home in Mineral Wells, Texas. Interment: Woodland Park Cemetery in Mineral Wells. Visitation: 12:00 PM Friday. Crit was born in Brashear, Texas on October 5, 1913 and moved to Mineral Wells where she lived until 2002. She then lived in Arlington, Texas. She married the love of her life, Vernon "Jelly" Hickman on March 19,1932. He preceded her in death in 1970. A lifelong member of the First Baptist Church, she embraced her faith and only stopped getting on her knees to say her nightly prayers when her knees began bothering her at the age of 95. She was devoted to her family and her last conversation ended with her saying, "l know everybody thinks their family is special, but I know that mine is the best. It An avid sports fan, she rarely missed watching the Texas Rangers or the Dallas Mavericks. She looked forward to family holidays, weekly restaurant visits and trips to the beauty shop. For many years, Crit was employed at the Mineral Wells Sav-ings and Loan. She was a member of the Zonta Club and the Eastern Star. Her positive attitude and sweet nature were an inspiration to all who knew her. Noone can remember her ever getting mad or losing her temper. Her gentle spirit will forever remain in the hearts of those who will miss her dearly. SURVIVORS: Sons, Bill Hickman and wife Becky, Jerry Hickman and wife Kay, six grandchildren, Kara Martin and husband Pepe, Jeff Hickman, Mark Hickman and wife Leigh, Shana Hickman, Donovan Hickman and wife Summer, Sean Hickman, six great grandChildren, Alex, Marco and Eva Martin, Belle Hickman, Kenzie Hickman, Finn Hickman and nieces JoAnn Wallace, Jan Jordan, Pat Goff and one nephew, Dalton Chester.
