Cheryl Elizabeth Garrett, born September 16, 1951, in Fort Worth, Texas, passed away peacefully July 26, 2024, surrounded by her loved ones. She was the cherished daughter of Walter Berna Garms and Gloria Elizabeth Tubb, both of whom preceded her in death. Cheryl was also preceded by her beloved sisters, Lois Talent and Linda Clark and by her brother, Berna Garms.
Cheryl is survived by her devoted husband, Paul Burns; her two sons: Billy Garrett and wife, Brandy and Leon Garrett and his partner, Brett; by her stepdaughters: Angela Burns Morgan and husband, Chris and Tiffany Burns and her spouse, John. She was a proud grandmother to Bethany, Jaylon, Karlie, Simon, Riley, Ryan, Haylee, Hynder, Anzley, and Ripton; and numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family.
Cheryl's nurturing spirit and boundless love defined her as a mother, wife, and grandmother. She loved spending time with her family and friends. She also enjoyed going to casinos, cooking, and finding treasures at yard sales. Cheryl had a special place in her heart for animals and cared for several pets over the course of her life. Her legacy of love, compassion, and generosity will continue to inspire all who knew her.
Cheryl's memory will live on in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Graveside services will be 10 a.m. Tuesday, July 30, 2024 at Cross Cut Cemetery.
