Cheryl Lynette Chastain, 58, passed away May 6, 2009 in a Fort Worth hospital. She was born January 6, 1951 in Mineral Wells the daughter of Emmett P. and Beulah Gilbert Chastain. She graduated from Mineral Wells High School in 1969, attended Tarleton State University, and graduated from East Texas State University with B. S. and M. S. in Family and Consumer Science. She lived in Mineral Wells and Graham and taught Family and Consumer Science at Graham High School for 36 years. She was a lifetime member of the First Baptist Church of Mineral Wells, and was a Sunday school teacher and infant nursery caretaker. She was a member of the Texas State Teacher's Association, the Texas Family and Consumer Science Association, Delta Kappa Gamma, and the Texas Hereford Association. Services will be 2 PM Friday, May 8, 2009 at First Baptist Church in Mineral Wells. Burial will follow in Dobbs Valley Cemetery. Visitation is Thursday from 6-8 PM at the funeral home. She is survived by her sister and brother-in-law: Marjorie and Robert LaFont of Peoria, Illinois, brother and sister-in-law: Jackie L. and Lyn Chastain of Fort Worth, niece: Sarah LaFont of Missoula, Montana, nephews and spouses: Lee and Candace Chastain of Arlington, Steven and Heidi LaFont of Peoria, Illinois, great-niece: Madeline LaFont, and great-nephews: Charlie and Siam LaFont. She was preceded in death by her parents and baby brother: Jimmie Dean Chastain.
