Charles Spurgeon

Charles "Lindy" Spurgeon was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great- grandfather. He passed away October 15, 2013. He was born March 8, 1928 in Palo Pinto County the son of Walter E. and Grace Caroline Graves Spurgeon. He was a World War II Veteran and served in the US Navy. He was a member of the South Side Lions Club in Ft Worth, Texas, and served as its president from 1983-1984. He loved his "little country church", Rock Creek Rd Baptist, and was a member there for the last 30 years. Services will be 10 AM Saturday, October 19, 2013 at Rock Creek Rd. Baptist Church. Burial will follow in Rock Creek Cemetery. Visitation is Friday from 6-8 PM at the funeral home. He is survived by his wife, of 65 years, Mary Spurgeon. He has 3 children, Linda Spurgeon Payne, and husband Jonathan, Charles Max Spurgeon, and wife Sue, Theresa Spurgeon Hawkins, and husband Mike, also six grandchildren, Jeremi Beam, and husband, Josh, James Elder and wife, Charlie, Joshua Payne, Charles H. Elder, Eric Spurgeon and wife, Amber, and Jessica Spurgeon, five great- grand- children, Skye, Jordan, Anthony, Ellie Jane, and Ashleigh, a very dear niece: Clareece Courtney, and many cousins and other family.
