Catarina Rios Valdez

Catarina Rios Valdez, 97, of Keller passed away April 6, 2011 at home surrounded by her loving family. The daughter of Juan and Maria Felan Rios. Born in Fredericksburg, Texas, She was a homemaker by heart and put much love into raising her family. She lived in Mineral Wells for many years, and enjoyed sewing and quilting; she loved music and hearing her family get together to sing and play instruments, but most of all she had a major influence in the Christian upbringing of her children and grandchildren.Survivors are daughters; Maria and husband Ronnie Melendez of Fort Worth, Anita and husband Emilio Banda of Fort Worth, sons; Salome and wife Ofelia Valdez of Mineral Wells, Juan and wife Dora of Laredo, Lee Valdez of Georgia and Albert and Margarita Valdez of Fort Worth, 47 grandchildren, 88 great grandchildren and 23 great-great grandchildren. She was preceded by her parents, daughters; Tina Guzman of Mineral Wells and Dela Hernandez of Fort Worth, and one son, Daniel Valdez of Weatherford. Visitation is Friday, April 8, from 6-8pm at Baum Carlock Bumgardner, with services on Saturday April 9, at 2pm in the Baum Carlock Bumgardner Chapel. Burial will follow at Woodland Park Cemetery.
