Bobby Vernon Smith

Bobby Vernon Smith, Sr., 82, passed away peacefully in his sleep, at his home, at Possum Kingdom Lake on Tuesday October 18, 2022. 

Graveside services will be held at 1 pm on Sunday, October 23, 2022 at McAdams Cemetery at Possum Kingdom Lake. 

Bobby was born on September 5,1940 in Memphis, Texas to James Henry and Elvada Clark Smith.  He met the love of his life, Peggy Danley Smith, in Seminole, Texas.  They were married December 17,1960.  One of his proudest accomplishments, with his wife by his side, was owning and managing Willow Beach Marina, Smith Park, and Log Cabin Lodge for 35 years at Possum Kingdom Lake.  Bobby loved all lake activities, playing games with his kids and grandchildren, and watching the Dallas Cowboys.  He will be missed dearly by his family. 

Bobby is survived by his wife of 62 years Peggy Danley Smith; his sons, Bobby and wife Delynna Smith, Robby and wife Mandy Smith, Randy Smith; 12 grandchildren, Jared and wife Veronica Smith, Dustin Smith, Krista and husband Joshua Timms, Chance, Cade and Hannah Smith, Brandon, Mason and Jacquelyn Carmichael, Ashlee and husband Mike Jones, Ryan Smith and Abigail Smith; 13 great grandchildren, Liam and Ella Smith, Braxton and Logan Smith, Scarlet, Caison and Holden Timms, Teigan and baby girl Smith due in March, Jaden Swint, Elizabeth and Jonah Jones, Rylyn Smith; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Ronald Sr. and wife Charlotte Danley; niece and nephew, Ronda and husband Randall Ryals, Ronald Danley, Jr.; 2 great nieces, Randi and husband Tim Martin, Rachelle and husband Tyler Joslin; 2 great great nieces, Camille Martin and Merilynn Joslin.
