Bob Hickey was born February 19, 1928 in Breckenridge, Texas to Alma and Leota Hickey. He died November 5, 2009, in Mineral Wells, Texas. Bob graduated from Ranger High School and Ranger Junior College, and went on to serve in the Navy during World War II. From 1958 to 1973, Bob was the co-publisher of the Mineral Wells Index. He was active in the Lion's Club and the American Legion and was a long-standing member of the First Baptist Church. Bob was predeceased by his parents and brother, Wendall Hickey, his daughter Pamela Jane, and grandson Gordon Hickey. He is survived by his children Bobby Jack Hickey, Jr., Jill Ann Moore, Jeff Hickey and his wife Charlotte, and his children's mother, Marilyn Bell. Grandchildren, Tamara Austin and husband Bill, Tyson Hickey, Trey Hickey and wife Devan, Denise Moore and husband Pat, Kim Bourgeois and husband Troy, Ken Moore, Jr., Terri Hickey and Russell Hickey. He is also survived by 8 great-grandchildren and many loving cousins and friends.The service for Bob will be at 2pm Saturday, November 7, in the chapel at Baum-Carlock-Bumgardner Funeral Home, 302 West Hubbard Street, Mineral Wells. Pastor Kirk Horton, a life long friend, will officiate. Burial will follow in Woodland Park Cemetery.
