Bobbie Lee Smith

November 16, 1934 — June 4, 2020

Bobbie Smith, 85, of Mineral Wells, went to live forever in the House of the Lord, on June 4, 2020.  Funeral services, officiated by Pastor Mark Alcorn, will be held on Monday, June 8, 2020, at 2 p.m. at the Calvary Baptist Church in Mineral Wells.  Visitation will be at the Baum Carlock Bumgardner Funeral Home Chapel Sunday, June 7, 2020, from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m..  Pallbearers will be Michael Chriestenson, Cody Chriestenson, Chris Gossett, John Earl Reeder, Butch Richard, and Brett Wright.  Interment will follow in the Woodland Park Cemetery.

Bobbie was a quiet, kind, loyal, family, and compassionate woman who went about life quietly loving God, her family, her country, her friends, and her community.  She walked with Grace in all her steps, Heaven in her eye and in every gesture dignity and love.

Her greatest love was her family.  Her two daughters, son, grandchildren and great grandchildren were her complete life. She always wanted to be where they were.  She loved all of them with every ounce of being. Her Bingo friends became her family and actually anyone she called friend became family.  Bobbie had so much love to give to everyone who were blessed to have crossed her path.  She will live on in our hearts and although she is not in our presence we carry her with us always.  As her great granddaughter, Kassie, wrote in song for her, "You fought your journey and now you are gonna make it home."  Oh how she loved us all and she will never "let go" she is tucked away in our hearts, forever.

Bobbie worked at the Provost Marshall's Office, Fort Wolters.  She was the first field deputy sheriff in Palo Pinto County under Sheriffs Bill Harris and Ray Patterson. She then pursued a dream in 1980 of becoming County Clerk for Palo Pinto County.  The dream became a reality and she was repeatedly elected to continue serving as the "citizens" County Clerk until her retirement in 2010.

Bobbie is survived by daughter, son and grand fur baby, Robbie, Harold and Gizmo Canada; daughter, Renda Smith; grandsons, granddaughters and great granddaughters and great grandson: Robert, Terrie, Kassie and Kendal Chriestenson; Chad, Ashley, Baylee and Colten Chriestenson; all of Mineral Wells; bonus grandson Jeremy Canada and his family of Eufaula OK; and two bonus daughters, Sandy Cowley and Tracy Meza.  Also surviving are her sister Micki Foust of Rockport Texas; a nephew and niece General Jerome and Roz Foust of Rockport, Texas; a great neice Kelley Villegas of Florida and great nephew, Scott Foust of El Paso and their families.  Bobbie is also survived by a host of relatives, friends, and bingo buddies.

Bobbie will be greeted in Heaven by her soul mate and husband Bud Smith; her parents, Marshall and Hassie Roberts; her mother and father in law, Basil and Augustine Smith; her brother Billy Ray Roberts, and other family, friends, and  fur babies.

The family would like to express their appreciation to the following who lovingly touched the life of our loved one with grace:  Dr. Thomas Rajan, Nephrologist  and Dr. Farhan Ali, you both presented unwavering care, concern, compassion, guidance, and humanity; to all the RN's and Techs at Baylor Scott and White; Dr. Charles Carlton, for your care and being a "son" to her; Dr. Cloven and all the staff at Texas Oncology; and to Dr. Brent Procter and Dr. David Turk for always meeting her need; along with all of her Bingo friends.

It would take pages to list everyone who touched our lives.  Just know we sincerely appreciate every person who smiled, said a positive word, asked about us, prayed, or helped in ways that you may not have known and assisted us through our loss.
