Billy Schoonover

Billy Joe Schoonover, 71, passed away April 3, 2015 at his home in Palo Pinto. He was born March 12, 1944 in Fort Worth the son of James and Callie Traylor Schoonover. He married Dorothy South on January 28, 1965 in Weatherford. He was a longtime resident of Palo Pinto and a member of the First Baptist Church of Palo Pinto. He was a veteran of the US Army having served in Vietnam. He was a member of the Knights of Pythias since he was 18. Services will be 2 PM Wednesday, April 8, 2015 at First Baptist Church of Palo Pinto. Burial will follow in Palo Pinto Cemetery. Visitation is Wednesday from 1-2 PM at the church prior to the service. He is survived by his wife: Dorothy Schoonover, sister: Mary Thompson, children and spouses: Carla and Gary Porter, Billy Wayne and Crystal Schoonover, Melissa and Tim Cushman, Dee Ann Jackson, Mike and Joan Burnett, James and Cindy Burnett, grandchildren: Tyler, Jesse, and Joshua Porter, Eric, C. J., Mallory, Braxdon, and Laura Schoonover, Lanie Jackson, Callie Lavada McDaniel, Coy and Katy Rutledge, Kayla, Megan, Chenoa, and Macyak Burnett, great-grandchildren: Emma, Ava, and Maddox Porter, Thomas and Kaden Burnett, and many nieces, nephews, and life-long friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, 3 sisters, and 4 brothers.
