Former coach and athlete Billy Joe Reddell went to be with our Lord and Savior on Thursday, January 29, 2015, at Midland Memorial Hospital, Midland, Texas, at 10:55 P.M. He was the son of former Paris, Texas, residents James Odus Reddell and wife Gladia. His wife Wanda, daughter Tacy Hicks, grandsons Kade and Hayden Hicks, sister-in-law Jacque Kenner, along with nieces and one nephew were by his side as he fought one last horrendous battle with Alzheimer's disease. Mr. Reddell was blessed with the ability to attend college by playing football at the University of Florida. He devoted his career in education to shaping young lives at Honey Grove, Paris, Mesquite, and Mineral Wells Independent School Districts. Bill enjoyed a meaningful life and basked in the fun of living. He loved the church, defended his country, and always rooted for the Gators and Mineral Wells Rams. He was loyal to the bone. As a proud grandfather, Bill delighted in his grandsons. He served his country in the Korean War and the Cuban Crisis. He loved coaching, winning, fishing, water-skiing, music, working in the yard and being with his family and friends. He will be greatly missed. Visitation will be Monday February 2, 2015 at the funeral home from 6-8pm. Funeral service will be Tuesday February 3, 2015 1pm at South Side Church of Christ.
