Billie Ruth "Jeri" Speake Goostree, 87, of Mineral Wells, a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and caring and loving friend too many, died Wednesday, February 10th, 2016, in Weatherford Regional Memorial Hospital. Our lives were so full from her giving nature. Family visitation is from 2:00 to 3:00PM with the Service following at 3:00PM, at the Baum Carlock Bumgardner Funeral Home, then for burial at the Sturdivant Cemetery, by Brother Jim Sanders who will officiate, assisted by Barry Holmes. Billie Ruth "Jeri" was born May 19th, 1928, in Athens, Texas, Henderson County, the daughter of Blackston Hardiman Speake and Hazel Charlotte Dowell Speake. Widow of 2006 from her marriage to Samuel L. Goostree in 1969 was truly the "love of her life". Jeri was previously married to Henry I. Fulbright, they had two sons and a daughter: Larry W. Fulbright, Jack M. Fulbright and Ruby L. Fulbright Harris. Billie Ruth "Jeri" was a good Christian mother. She had a good strong faith in God. She worked hard as homemaker, waitress, animal trainer, saleswoman, bookkeeper, teacher, barkeeper, general delegator and ramrod of any and everything. Her loving spirit was filled with warmth and generosity from such a caring heart. Her eagerness to pitch in and help was enormous and never tiring. From her travels throughout these United States and Canada as well, she was very knowledgeable. Her stubbornness and decisive ways were truly awesome. Billie Ruth "Jeri" was survived by her youngest brother Jerry Lloyd Speake and wife Linda of Malakoff, TX ; daughter Ruby L. Harris of Mineral Wells, TX; step-daughter Jo Anna and her husband Tom Potts of Georgetown, TX; daughter-in-law Judy Fulbright; five grandchildren, six great grandchildren, four great great grandchildren, five nieces and nephews, and numerous friends. Billie Ruth "Jeri" was preceded in death by her mother, Hazel McClendon; father, Black Speake; brother, Maurice Hardiman "Sonny" Speake, all of Malakoff, TX; her husband, Sam Goostree, Mineral Wells, father of her children, Henry Fulbright; her two sons, Larry and Jack Fulbright, of Mineral Wells.
