Billie Louise Van Buren (née Peacock) died peacefully at her home on October 30,2017 in Dallas, Texas at the age of 87. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 46 years, Donald Nelson Van Buren, her parents, six siblings and two great -grandchildren, Keison Gerber and Alexander Van Buren. Louise is survived by her children, Karen Van Buren, husband John Evancho of Austin; Larry Van Buren, wife Melissa of San Antonio; Steve Van Buren of San Marcos; Cheryl Sutterfield-Jones, husband Ron Jones of Dallas. Grandchildren: Michele Kidd, husband Gianluca Zanella; Blaine Campbell, wife Laura; Katy Vickers, husband Shawn; Steven Van Buren, wife Lauren; Jason Sutterfield, wife Sarah; Christopher Jones, wife Allison; and Cassie Jones Crochet, husband Joshua Crochet. Adopted in love granddaughter, Dottie Gerber, husband Keith. Great-grandchildren Kyle Kidd; Zachary Vickers, wife Courtney Bohannan-Vickers, Tanner Vickers and Kelly Vickers; Kaylee Westbrook; Clara, Jude and Heidi Sutterfield; Ella and Ryan Jones; Joel Gerber, wife Lauren; and Carlton and Olivia Gerber. She is also survived by loving in-laws, cousins, nieces, nephews and a host of friends. Louise was born in Lorena, Texas to Tom and Lovie Peacock. She was raised in Everman, Texas. One month after graduating from high school she married the man she met on a blind date when she was "way too young"the love of her life, Donald Van Buren or "Van". Their marriage began her journey as an Air Force wife that led her around the world. Van and Louise retired in 1969 and moved to Mineral Wells, Texas. After her husband passed away in 1993, Louise later moved to Bedford, Texas and then Dallas to be near family and her medical team at the UT Southwestern Medical Center. She was an active member at First Baptist Church, Mineral Wells for over 37 years. Louise was always active in whatever church or chapel that was near the military base she and her husband were stationed. Visitation will be Saturday, November 4, 2017 from 1-2 PM in the Baum-Carlock-Bumgardner Chapel. Memorial services will follow at 2:30 in the Baum-Carlock-Bumgardner Chapel. Burial will follow in Woodland Park Cemetery.
